Indian trumpet fruit is eaten in many different ways in Myanmar. This fruit is little bitter but some people like that kind of taste. Roast, marinate, pickle and some serve with fresh fruit in salad form.
This is Mon traditional recipe and not common to find in the market. Mon Thingyan rice is only cooked only in Thingyan time(about 5 days in mid of April). Mon people donate this dish to people who come to their donation booth.
Fried bitter-gourd with pounded bean is especially for vegetarian. For those who are not vegetarian also try this dish. Salt is used to reduce the bitter flavor of bitter-ground. This dish is server as a side dish in Myanmar lunches and dinners.
